What is a vacuum tray dryer?
A vacuum tray dryer is used to remove liquids from a slurry in order to obtain the solids. This is done by placing trays, or pans, of slurry on a heated shelf within the vacuum vessel. Once the boiling point of the liquid is reached vaporization occurs and is then extracted from the vacuum vessel, via the vacuum pump. Typically the vapor is condensed outside of the vacuum vessel and collected. Heated shelves accelerate the heating of the slurry because of the conductive transfer of energy directly into the tray or pan.
The Model GXC heated shelves can be oil, steam, water, glycol, or electrically heated. We can utilize existing factory utilities or provide you with a complete turn-key thermal system. In addition to heating, we can also offer cooling of shelves again utilizing factory mediums or providing a complete system. Oil, steam, and water heated configurations offer increased process safety and remove all electrical potential from the process chamber.
Distillation can be fully integrated and automated into your system. Instrumentation and terminations are either intrinsically safe, purged, or sealed in a code-compliant apparatus.
